Dea & Darren’s Hawthorne Nevada Wedding
Most people think of Hawthorne as a tiny not-so-great (and I’m being nice here) town, that you fill up your car on the way to Vegas. But when people say that I kinda want to punch them in the face. Hawthorne is so beautiful, if you can see it. It has GREAT backdrops for photos such as sand blasted paint on wooden buildings. Hawthorne is really the desert. I absolutely love it. So do Dea and Darren, who live there. I was so excited to do this wedding. I love old buildings and small towns. You don’t have to worry about traffic while you are running between the guys and the girls for the getting ready photos and you can use basically the whole town. I just wish I had more time. Like three days would be enough. Ok, that isn’t possible, but that is how many cool locations there are in Hawthorne.
Dea and Darren made this wedding so much fun. The ceremony was at the Walker Lake Country Club inside the Hawthorne Army Depot. Followed by a reception at the Hawthorne Convention Center. I was a little scared going around the army depot, because it is an active army base, and I know security is tight, but if you have a wedding party, I think you can get away with a lot. So we kept moving locations on the base which had very nice old buildings huge trees and well it was just fantastic for a photographer. The couple were serious about getting great photos, but also the request was for every serious photo, they wanted a funny photo. Well I aim to please. Even with all the joking and laughing the love they have for each other shone through. What a great day!
