Anemone themed family shoot in Vesterskov, Glumsø, Denmark
After the long dark winter, Danes are rewarded for their patience or at the least tolerance of the rain, the cold and the muck in spring, when it seems all of Denmark explodes in color. One sign that spring has come is when the forests in Denmark become covered with small white flowers called Anemone nemorosa or wood anemones. They bloom before the trees and are gone after a few short weeks, so timing is important. This shoot was done in the Vesterskov (or Western Forest) near Glumsø, Denmark about an hour outside of Copenhagen. Silke and her brother Sigge had fun running and jumping and crawling though the forest. We were the only people among the trees and the deer. It’s the perfect place for a photo session with no interruptions. It’s a place where wandering off the path is rewarded with the brilliance of nature.
